After the incident with Zohar (the guy who used Rabbi Elias Spector's animated corpse to attack Moon Knight,) there isn't a whole lot about Marc's father in any of the later series. He appears in a few flashbacks during Moon Knight volume 4, and either a hallucination or the spirit of Elias visits Marc while MK is drowning during the Scarlet Redemption story arc of Marc Spector: Moon Knight.
Fist of Khonshu was an attempt to turn Marc into a bonafide comic book superhero with actual powers and fancy weapons. Marvel basically decided it was necessary to make Khonshu an actual character because it sounded better for a superhero to get his powers from a god than it does to say he gets his powers from being crazy. Fist of Khonshu led to Moon Knight joining the West Coast Avengers where we see Khonshu actually possess Marc and eventually get exorcised by Daimon Hellstrom and, after that, the god of vengeance has very little to do with Marc until the Resurrection War miniseries.
