I am writing a paper for Literature class. I have been given the impression that Zora's father was known to be unfaithful to her mother. Also she didn't get along with her step-mother. I am trying to tie her writing to her childhood. She seems to have a certain disgust for men who cheat, and women who they cheat with and always a person like Delia who is the heroine of the story. Am I any where near right. I love her writing, she reminds me of my life, and I wonder if her writing was for therapy to some extent. She was a very free spirit who judged not by color but character. She reminds me of Martin Luther King's speech about "I hope my children can grow up in a world where they will be judged not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. Please give me input on this. By the way I am white, but for some reason I have always been extremely interested in black history and literature.
