Posted by shon I just had to comment because so many people have these so-called mixed reviews, I am sure white people who is hint, hint white and is going to tell a black female version of how this lower genre of people where like unless you have been there. I don't think that they have ever been black and can actually feel her words deep down, without soul. But anyway, there got to be haters so do an excellent job at it, and hate on.

This is exactly what Oprah said that she wanted to do with the movie. And if she could just only get people after seeing the movie to say I want to read more about this lady or more books she wrote or discover all over again her wonderful writing gift, then she would have accomplished her goal. After reading your comment I think she did just that. I have gotten more interested as well. I didn't know she had writtne so many books. Besides the couple of short stories that I've read in Lit class.
