thanks for the message. good point. but be nice. you are correct, most scholars now believe that is not Hurston. when i put the photo up, it had been printed in several books, which i mistakenly believed. my apologies. oh well. it is on my list of things to eventually take care of... you raise an interesting point about representation - image is powerful. i agree, but for ACCURACY, not for "images... that she would approve." i have no problem with printing/ displaying things she wouldn't approve of. hurston was at times a masterful PR person for herself. her autobiography is only vaguely true, for example. kip
