(NOTE: You can post below on this board if you want, but [yW]Clan is no longer operational. This board is here to show and teach new people what a "clan Message board" looks like and how to use it. A Clan Message Board is extremely handy for getting info out to your clan and spreading knowledge. A Message Board does not "make a clan", it makes it better.)

Posted by [lld]John McCain on 7/2/2001, 1:33 am ThatÂ’s all it takes. Here are some more detailed instructions for you newbs: 1) The size of the images counts. 112 x 96 and 96 x 112 are the highest combos that will work I pick one of these every time. 2) The image has to be in 256 color. How to do this? check around your software under colors and image and things like that and you will find it. For those paint shop pro users Colors-Decrease Color Depth-256Colors (8bit). 3) The last and most simple thing is saving your file as a .bmp ---- This is the default image set for MS Paint. Go to save as and you can find this option. If you feel you can do this three things then I have a small folder "HLTEXTURE" that can convert your image.bmp to pldecal which you can then paste in your cstrike/tfc/half-life folder to USE AS YOUR COLOR LOGO! These three things can be done with just about ANY PAINT PROGRAM INCLUDING GET THIS "MS PAINT!" I use Paint Shop Pro but since MS PAINT is the most basic paint program and comes WITH ALL WINDOWS based Computers then my guess would be that every single paint program can do these three things. If you are having trouble finding how to do these three things LOOK AROUND! Go into the paint programs help section (if they have one) and search around there. But if you can't find it after searching send me an email. Since I know many people use this program I am going to list the instructions for MS PAINT to do these three simple things. First making your image a 96 by 112 or 112 by 96. Now the last two parts are a one-part step! To convert to 256 colors (8 Bit) and save as .bmp THAT WILL TAKE CARE OF YOUR IMAGE and make it ready for HLTEXTURE! :::CURRENTLY I CANNOT FIND A WEBSITE THAT HAS HLTEXTURE DOWNLOADABLE! FOR NOW I CAN SEND IT TO YOU BY EMAIL. MAYBE SOMEONE AT ATOMICWARRIORS WILL LET ME SEND IT TO THEM SO THEY CAN PUT IT UP ON THIS WEBSITE! BUT FOR NOW SEND ME AN EMAIL AND I WILL SEND YOU HLTEXTURE::: MY EMAIL ADDRESS: EBRYANT@NC.RR.COM
To make color logos the easy way you don't need wally. One problem with wally is that it can be confusing. This program does several different things and if you are like me you just want to make color logos you don't want all the other options.
Since I have read directions of making color logos before and sometimes these directions take up more than a page (OUCH!) here are simple instructions:
1) Size it to 112x96 or 96x112 2) Convert to 256 Colors 3) Save as bmp.
>>>Go to the IMAGE TAB at the top, then click ATTRIBUTES<<< There you have width and height for you. Remember you can't have a 112 by 112 or your image won't work so I always use 96 by 112 or 112 by 96.
