Normally I enjoy the patriotic messages on this post but this thread has to be the most dissappointing one I have seen. Yes Kia is a South Korean company, not Japanese, yes we have been protecting their border with North Korea for over 50 years, but not alone, their Army serves right beside us. The's a difference in being patriotic and being out right racist. If you don't want to buy foreign made cars then don't, but do it for reason's other than race. Do it because the quality is poor, or the asthetics aren't to your liking. If this post were about the new Samsung TV or the LG cell phone you're probably carrying then you wouldn't have this same reaction, guess what those are also South Korean Companies.
And just for your education, we have been protecting the DMZ for over 50 years along with the South Korean military. The South Korean Army has in return, served along side the US in ever conflict to include OIF and OEF. They have lost their men in uniform in this useless war as well. They South Korean's even served beside our soldier in Viet Nam. So to hear you degrade their entire country as if they were weak people who can't pull their own weight is disgraceful. You may also like to know that the South Korea Government has been gradually taking control of their own protection for the last 25 years based on an agreement that US troops would be reduced by a certain percentage each year. In the last 5 years the US has closed several of it's smaller camps in the Area closest to the DMZ and turned them over to the Korean Army.
I hope you feel ashamed of your ignorance. Serving currently as an active duty Army soldier, and having been to Korean on two overseas tours I feel a very close bond with my former KATUSA soldiers and friends from South Korea.
