I'm not trying to start anything here. I ended my association with the Fates in 1978. Back then the Fates in Baltimore (my chapter) and the PMC got along fine. In the Virginia area it seems the Pagans got greedy and they thought the Fates were in the way. I could have my facts wrong as my info comes from pro-Fates sources. But no matter. The Fates fought back and suffered at the hands of the much larger PMC. The Hells Angels were on this in a heart beat and patched over the Fates. Now the PMC are the small fish and they'll be sorry. I asked Keith "Conan" Richter via email what actually transpired between the Fates and PMC but he didn't elaborate, it wasn't his chapter involved.
I personally wish ALL clubs could work together for the betterment of their communities. A case in point, Philadelphia. When HA had a chapter there, street crime dropped. No crack dealers on the corners & no purse snatching in the area of the HA clubhouse. The local Pagans chapter made things hard for the HA chapter and the 81 left. Crack dealers came back, etc. The local residents actually said they missed the Hells Angels and they felt much safer when they were around. This is what I liked to see more of. 1%ers doing good for the community. If the local people are behind the club, the cops can't touch them!
