Ya want your freedom to ride without a helmet??? ABATE has been askin for that for nearly 20 years with no results. Our WV. Govnt. refuses to even consider the equasion. What we have to do is follow the steps of the states around us.
Stop riding- and dont pay taxes on the scoots for a year. Get your sleds licenesed in Ohio, Kentucky, or Pa for a year. Just ban together and tell our state---no.
I have personally suggested to many groups to help ban the helmet law. Now---skid lids are a good eyedeer, but I do not wish to conform to the laws that make us wear them. Sould be personal choice. The Goldwingers Boo me----reckn they have fools in office. BMW clubs tell me its "up to me"----but Im not into the beemer click. Im a Mountaineer who "Shall always be free" and I don't like that skid lid law.
I would most likely wear a protective covering aound my head when riding in population. But in my rural area----I have more problems with potholes than anything else. What importance is a helmet when I cannot exceed 30 mph???? I think the State of West Virginia has forgotten about the majority of riders, and focused their attention on Charleston.
I think its has become a very sad state of affairs when the majority of a population chooses one direction, and the lawmasters choose whats "good for us."
