It was right close to freezin when George Washington crossed the Deleware river with two dozen men to do battle with the mighty Hessian that the English hired.
Was Christmas day when the battle began. As history states, there were no less than 500 Hessians to do war with a mere 24 men who wished freedom from the taxation of the English.
shortly after a few men exchanged blows, a small firearm was heard from an English ship. Then, there was cannon fire. The English would not step foot upon the new land----they would fire vollys, yet were skeered to follow Hessians who were their "Hired assassians".
There were only two dozen sent to do battle with the mighty Hessian, and England. So what did we do???? We invited the Hessian to breakfast.
Hell yea hideo hey!!!! 500 paid warriors against 24???? George Washington wasn't a slupid man. He got them drunken, got them laid, and got them breakfast.
After three months on a boat, what man would deny a woman?????
so, the mighty "Hessian" of 500 or so moved on Westward and were always ready to do battle with those who could pay to play. There were some that got themself to the Pacfic. Not many, but enough to retain the name.
Do correct me if I am incorrect, but history tells me that Washington crossed the river in 1774, and the USof A hired the Hessions in 1835 to BATTLE with Mexico.
I understand there some Hessians still around, but cannot be located.
