The "Harley Slide" started in 1999 when another American Company started maeketing "The New American Motorcycle". The newcomer had a bigger stronger fuelinjected motor and all kinds of new technology to make the Bike more reliable and smoother to ride, and it cost about $6000 less. Harley woke up and started offering Fuel Injection as an option, then they increased the size of their engines to 88 ci, now, because the other American Motorcycle comes with a standard 100 cubic inches, fuel injection and a 6 speed tranny - Harley has gone to 96 cubic inches with fuel injection and a 6 speed option for trannies. Now you can see why the older Harley's have lost their value and are not bringing the money they used to. They are Yesteryears technology. If you didn't know this already you really owe it to yourself to chech out Victory Motorcycles.
