I have noticed some things that make me wonder if Harley has seen it's hayday and now things are changing. First, I hear that Benji HD in Huntington is selling out. Benji has built a shop that is something to see. A new modern building and service dept. with a first class resturant and a building for his old bikes to be on display. Heck, the man has bought up a whole city block over the years for his dealership. I think Benji knows something the rest of us don't and he's getting out while the getting is good.
Second, there are some dealerships that are selling brand new 2007 Harleys for a thousand bucks below MSRP. What happened to the two year waiting list? The putting a deposit down on a bike that you had no choice of color or options on? Whats going on?
Third, there seems to be a market place full of used Harleys that won't sell. Dealers don't even want them as trade-in's and if they do take them its for penneys on the dollar.
All this makes me think that Harley has seen its peak and we are now starting the downhill slide.
How about the rest of you, have you noticed a change?
