I agree with you Shadow. People now days are to wrapped up in their own little world to care about those that have served their country.
This reminded me of an incident that occured several years ago on Memorial Day. I had went to the services held at one of the Veterans Cemeteries. Afterwards several of us went to eat and the young lady, in her 20's, working the door was having a a big time wishing everyone a happy Memorial Day and asking if they wanted to see her Memorial Day dance. She proceded to do a little jig and was having a fun time. I watched this for awhile and it got to the point where I thought my head was going to explode. I went up to her and asked her if she had any idea what Memorial Day was all about. She got this blank look on her face and it was plain to see that she didn't have a clue. Just another holiday to her. I gave her a brief lesson on the true meaning of Memorial Day and explained to her it wasn't a "happy" day and there was no reason to be partying and dancing around and that if she didn't stop things were going to get ugly. Several others in the place spoke up and started giving her hell for her actions also.
All this made me wonder how anyone could be so friggin dumb and what are they teaching kids in school these days. The other employees and the manager didn't seem to know what Memorial Day was about either or you would have thought that they would have told her that her comments and actions were out of line.
It's only going to get worse as time passes Shadow. They have stopped teaching kids about these things. No more pledge to the flag, no more prayer, no more in God we trust, no more picture of Christ, no more anything that made this Country what it is. This Country is doomed if we don't demand that this nonsense is stopped and we get back to the basics of teaching our kids respect for the history of the USA.
Makes ya wonder just what the hell are we fighting for. This "new" way of life will be the down fall of this once great Country.
