Posted by Keith V. Trickle, the 1971 & 1987 Oktoberfest Champion, returns to the famous end of season event for the second year in a row and will be competing the Wisconsin Late Model “100” feature event on Sunday, October 8th. “I’m looking forward to Oktoberfest,” Trickle recently stated. “I didn’t want to leave La Crosse like that last year – with my car not performing well.” In 2005, Trickle finished 16th in the 100-lap feature event that was won by Bangor’s Steve Holzhausen. Trickle will be competing in a new car that he raced earlier this year at the Slinger Nationals. He qualified third and had a top-five run going until he was involved in a late race crash that relegated him to a 13th place finish. Trickle will be in attendance throughout the four-day weekend. On Thursday, October 5th, he will be appearing at a reception in the Turn One Chalet for a meet and greet from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. On Friday, October 6th, he will serve as the Grand Marshall for the final NASCAR Autozone Elite Division Midwest Series event. Trickle will get behind the wheel of his late model on Saturday, October 7th where he will practice and qualify for the Wisconsin Late Model “100” feature event. He will also compete in a Match Race with former two-time ARTGO champion Jim Weber. This will be a best two out of three, 4 laps each contest. On Sunday, Trickle will start the day by participating in an on-track autograph session at 9:15 a.m. He will then go for his third Oktoberfest title by competing in the Wisconsin Late Model “100” later that afternoon. “Last year, I couldn’t believe how much Oktoberfest had grown since the last time I was there,” Trickle stated. “It’s truly ‘Racing’s Family Reunion.” For more information on the 2006 Oktoberfest Race Weekend, please visit the track’s website at www.lacrossespeedway.com.
