Posted by Chad The second half of the race about 20 laps in, Dick’s car came in and he was off to the races. He was moving into 5th when a car came down on him and pushed him into the grass. Dick quickly recovered, but was back in 8th. He moved back up to 6th and was running there the rest of the race until.... Dick was running the high line all night letting cars try to pass him low, which by the way he was only pasted three times I remember. Well with 7 laps to go the car #38 running in 8th decides he should give Dick a shove. Dick went extremely hard into the backstretch wall. The car almost flipped upside down. He sounded very shaken up on the radio when he finally did respond. He did get out and wave to the crowd. It was great to see the man come back and actually be able to run. By the way, I am not a big Matt Kenseth fan, but the guy put on a hell of a show. Started 21st and won the race. He ran an incredible line and passed everyone clean. All in all a great night watching my hero. I know my chances are getting smaller and smaller to see Dick run and do not miss a one.

Dick had a brand new car and was extremely strong. He qualified 3rd. Yes 3rd. The inversion of the 250 lap race inverted the top 10, so Dick started 7th. Dick was able to run respectable and stayed in the top 8. At lap 125 they take a 10 minute break. Dick asked for more bite to be put in the car. He said the car was fairly neutral, but did not feel he had the power to keep with the leaders.
