Top Cup sponsors are spending as much as $15M per year in that series. Assuming top Busch sponsors are spending at least one-quarter of that amount, that would be about $4M per year to sponsor a top Busch team. Based on a 35 race schedule, that would be about $114,000 per race. But that $4M figure is based on running 35 races and spreading the costs over 35 races. So I think a one race sponsor would probably have to pay more than $114,000 to advertise on a good car. So I don't think the whole idea would be very appealing to any large corporation. I think the best bet would be to get into one of the top team's cars, i.e., Rousch, Hendrick, Childress, etc., maybe with some decent associate sponsorship money. Guys like Rousch, Hendrick, Childress, etc. have more resources, including race cars, motors, equipment, and personnel. Having those resources makes it easier for those teams to put good equipment on the track for one race, for a lesser cash outlay. But when all is said and done, I'm not sure if the driver is interested anymore.
