These dogs are a great dog and will be my breed of choice from now on. That being said I also own 3 rotties and have no children. Training from early on is a must with these dogs and making sure they realize that the pack order runs from the parents and kids being the leaders to them. You don't only have to train for what is giong on in your life now but also what can happen in the future like having a baby. These dogs can get very big depending on the lines that they come from and aren't for the fait of heart. They were bred to work independantly as they guarded livestock with out the owners present and while this makes them a quick learner and easily trained it also means they know when they are in charge and how to control situations. No child should ever have a corsi on a leash without an adult present. This could end badly for everyone if they don't get this puppy under control now. Are they in contact with their breeder or are the attending an obedience class. If not I would suggest they enroll in a class immediately before this dog is too big and to much in control that it becomes a liability. Above all make sure you and your kids are safe when out and about with this dogs and if it is unleashed and off the property don't take a chance have the dog picked up by animal control. I am sorry...this is an amazing breed and in the right hands I would trust them as much as I would trust any dog be it a lab, golden or poodle.
