I would like to clear up a few things that are being said on another board.
1- These pups were not stolen!!!
2 - What a rescue does is adopts not sells a pup. There is a donation fee that covers the cost incurred by rescuing all the dogs they take in not just the ones currently available. I take dogs who are healthy and others who are not. I cannot adopt a elderly dog that I've had to vet and taken care of for the same as a young dog but I've spent more on the elderly one to give them a chance at a better life.
3 - Adoption fees are not based on breed or money making opportunity. They are based on age and health condition ( special needs dogs are entitled to a good life as well!!).
4 - All dogs are adopted on a strict contract that is legal and binding.
5 - All potential adopters ( note 'potential' I screen each application) must fill out a application, agree to the adoption contract, provide several references and a vet check( past and present) as well as submit to a home check. If they don't meet the criteria required for an adoptive dog they are told and if its because they just aren't a match for a certian dog they can go on a waiting list until a match is found.
I have been involved in rescue for over 16yrs. I also belong to other rescues and take dogs in for them ( I don't get reimbursement for any costs of caring for those dogs while in my home). I am recognized by other well respected rescue groups and people so anytime a Corso is requiring help they call me. What Gerry does is his own business and not my concern - I've never been presented with proof that he has done anything unethical - I do know he has offered to rescue Corso's in the past. At least he is offering - last time I checked Angela, Norm, Jennifer Skinner, Patricia and anyone else in that gang have never stepped up to take care of the breed yet they are the ones who have been the foundation of all the problems we have within this breed in Ontario. I have never breed nor ever will breed a Corso yet they are on the other board flaming away. I have proof that Jennifer Skinner and party have attempted to purchase these pups - so they had no problem trying to get their hands on them before from the rescue person who held them until I picked them up. So they were willing to buy what they claim to be stolen then but not exposing it until they found out I had the pups in my care.
I am not hiding anything from anyone I have disclosed any issues about this breed to applicants who have filled out the appropriate paperwork. I will not give any info out to people emailing from gmails or other no name email accounts who haven't sent in a application.
On a last note if Patricia and the others want to call the SPCA go right ahead I work closely with the SPCA's across Ontario and escpecially my local SPCA if you'd like send me your phone number ( Angela, Jennifer, Norm) and I'll have them call you. They'll gladly give you a great reference and let you know I'm a highly and well respected person in the dog community and in our community in general as I'm very active in other things here. Would you also like to contact the local newpapers who have done several articles in regards to my actions as a handler, trainer and rescuer.
This is the first and last I will comment on this subject. As I find people like that a waste of time. I do believe in providing people with accurate info and do not appreciate the defaming of my character. As well Laurie's name was brought up and they seem to think that she is also acting unethical becasue she's not bad mouthing me. Laurie and I have respect for each other and are active in this breed as a positive position, even if it means exposing the above mentioned people and taking their crap. I'm sure they've sent her nasty emails like the ones I'm receiving but they do this to try to run us off so they can get back to scamming people via this breed. They cannot do so while we are involved.
Please note for those reading this who are to much of a coward to post with their real name or pick up the phone and say it to me. I am kindly requesting that the posts claiming the pups are stolen be removed and that you stop with the defamation of myself immediately or I will take the appropriate legal action to have you stopped.
Thanks to those who support me and the cause to do right by this breed. I apologize for having to post such things but it is necessary to let people know the truth.
