Posted by Joseph on 4/14/2007, 9:59 am, in reply to "Re: Who's puppy" my name is Joseph and I was hoping to exchange some friendly dialogue with you. I haven't written or looked much at bb's for maybe five years or so. I have started to follow this one since it seems to be accessible and I have no desires to join cane corso clubs. I always go back to one "famous" cc expert who claims to have traveled to places where he didn't know people were even living yet they had cc s. He then explains his support that the dogs all had scissors bites because he even opened the dogs mouths. Maybe on a few but cane corsos found in these areas are simple guard dogs...they were nt taken to parks to be socialized. They were chained and dropped on a specific part of a property. If lucky... they got to eat hard bread. These dogs simply cant be approached...yet this writer is sticking his hands in their mouths? How many of these samples have you examined up closely? Everybody has their own idea about this breed..... some even write books. As for your picture... I would politely disagree and say the dogs is more than a cc.. I know a few people in Italy that collect these types of dogs and insist they are rustic cc's . I think they are simply trying to create yet another version of the breed.... their own! God help the cc. Joseph

hello Warren...
Before I even start I would let you know up front that i personally believe there to have been confusion, misunderstandings and even unscrupulous values bestowed on this breed at the start of it's recovery. And that's before it even arrived on our shores which certainly didnt help.
I'm sure you know the cc world is full of opinion and information gathering trying to support one aspect of the dog or another that best suits a breed club no matter what country.
I make light of this because my experiences are so different from this.
So... this being said it seems you have taken a particular stance on critical cc issues. You have even shown a picture of what you deem to be a true cc from rustic Italian blood lines.
I was wondering if you could explain the following to me that would start to support your conclusions.
How many times have you been to Italy... I mean in the sections where these dogs came from? The parts of Italy that had a culture that helped give the dog its characteristics.
Joseph
