The answer is simple. The breed is advanced through genetic combinations that produced superior offspring to the parents. In a female’s life only 2-4 genetic combinations were possible in the past. Limiting the combinations a breeder had with the female’s set of genes. With the ability to DNA test, using two sires in the same breeding now allows 4-8 genetics combinations. This enables breeders to find the optimum blend of genes that will produce dogs that are superior in conformation, health and temperament to their parents. It is the cutting edge in breed advancement.
