Posted by Laurie on 12/28/2006, 10:12 am, in reply to "Re: Another mastiff needs help ... seen on Kijiji" I adopted him in September 2005 when I was working for Toronto Animal Services. He was surrended into the North York shelter when he was 6 months old. The previous owners had him and a Golden Retreiver and they lived in an apartment. He was given up because of the size of their apartment and the woman was pregnant. He was not house broken when I got him. Since then he is full house broken and graduated from puppy school, "Dealing with Dogs" I do not have any pedigree papers, only adoption papers. On my adoption papers, they have him listed as a Cane Corso. But my Veterinary Clinic feels he is a Cane Corso/Neapolitan Mastiff Mix. He is currently 115 pounds. He just got diagnoised with Epilespy about a month ago, he is on 1.7 ml's of Potassium Bromide 2 times a day for maintenance. I'd be more than happy to give you my Veterinary Clinic's information, or I could send you all of his records myself. I have all of the examination notes as well as notes from the Emergency clinic the night he Seizured. He Seizured twice within a few hours, and has not Seizured since. He has an excellent tempermant. He is good with children, he loves people, LOVES other dogs, gets along well with cats also. He can get a little riled up when there are alot of people in the house and barks when someone comes to the door. He used to jump ALOT but has gotten much much better. He loves attention and if he does get riled up, can be calmed down quickly if you pet him. He loves his nose to be rubbed. He walks well on a leash, I use a gentle leader because of his size. While walking him, if he see's another dog, he does get excited and pull his leash a bit. His name is Oden. He is a Grey with beautiful Fawn brindle, he has white on his chest and blue eyes. He is very, very handsome. He is neutered and microchipped. He is a little behind on vaccines, about 2 months behind but I need to take him in January to get bloodwork done to make sure he is on the correct dosage of Potassium Bromide. The medication does make him drink and urinate alot more than he used to when he was without it.
