Ken u r so right. What pisses me off (sorry) is not only all the BYB's churning dogs out, are the pet stores (I worked at PJ's after high school and man I could tell u some horror stories). Our shelters are over run with protection type dogs due to irresponsible ownership and just plain idiots who dont research the breed they "just gotta have". Irresponsible breeders who sell to anyone having the cash, and then at the end of the line the so called trainers who are only motivated by greed. Many of whom have no clue what problems face certain breeds. Again offering training based on the almighty dollar. Whether the owner asks for OB, Schutz or PP many of these trainers are willing to take your money, teach the dog to do bitework, screw the dog up, send it back into society and ulimately to its death in a shelter when down the road the dog...only doing what it has been taught, bites someone in the street. Ive seen way too many, education IS key. From the potential owner...to the breeder...to the trainers its essential they all do it.
Here's an example. I have been looking into bandogs, like the look, like the working ability. But after doing some research, talking to those who know the breed and know me decided this was more of a breed than I can handle. I cant fit a sqaure peg into a round hole no matter how much I jam it....but how many others out there are willing to give it their damnest to try???!!!
