The topic has always been more of a sore spot than an interest to me! But to add to the curiosity, consider the following: After the second world war there was said to be ONE male sire of the English mastiff left! Where's that leave us w/regard to the question about mutts?!!!!!! The DDB is a total reconstruction and the Neo is said to have had Presa used to reconstruct them. The Neo, was not harmed by the Presa influence due to the two breeds congruence. The alleged St. Bernard in the OEM and the English bulldog in the DDB changed those breeds forever. Those were bad crosses! Whenever crossing is contemplated, the end result needs to be clear. Unfortunately looks were the basis I have a lot of dog books, some of which are older rare books. If I see anything in them I will certainly forward it to you.

Butch,
