One thing that seems to be pretty certain is that the original GS, Rot and terrier made up the original Dobe. Although your information on the Weimaraner may be generally correct, it's not applicable here. It's widely held that pointer and sight hound were added, but MUCH later. Later like... mid 1900s. The Weimaraner would have been readily accessible at that time. Louis had nothing to do with today's "refinement" of the breed. He certainly wouldn't have cared about the appearance or nose of the dog. Mark
