Ian Wills ( the Canberra one ) and Murray would be most interested in these I'm sure. Just click on the webpage address to open up the page for reading.
Captain John Wills - Master Mariner
Captain Richard Wills- Master Mariner
Captain William Wills - Master Mariner
The Lady Mildred Wreck at Wilson's Promontory
4th March 1909.
All three started working at different times but would have worked at the same time during the 1870s and 1880s up and down the east coast of Australia. Newcastle to Melbourne and back were common trips but dangerous near Wilson's Promontory in foggy weather in winter as dozens of ships were wrecked during that time.
This is good for your archives as the articles can be blown up and printed out.
There could well be more aticles on those three as there are more Wills than you can poke a stick at in the old newspapers.
We know that two are related ( father and son )I will check as a matter of interest to see if in fact all three are related which looks highly probable.
Regards from Ian Wills ( the Melbourne one )
