For the last couple of years I've noticed an increasing number of an alien Brassica in late Brassica nigra crops or as a millet-seed alien from several localities in south and central England. It is an annual, looks like Raphanus (especially the pods) but with larger violet, unveined flowers (25-30 mm), is entirely glabrous, and the plant is generally larger and stouter. It also comes true from seed. It doesn't match up with anything from the BSBI 2003 checklist and I'm stumped for ideas. Anyone have any suggestions? I have pictures but no web-site and can e-mail them to anyone who feels they can help.
