Before the next frosts strike, for anyone in the south Bucks/east Berks area, there's a lovely display of late season birdseed casual annuals on dumped allotment soil on old waste ground near the Grand Union Canal in Iver (TQ051808), just behind the recycling plant. Casuals include Chenopodium hybridum, Datura stramonium, Cannabis sativa, several species of Amaranthus (identificaiton help needed!), Coriandrum sativum and the best display of Nicandra physalodes I've seen in many years with plants up to a metre tall. You need to hedge and ditch a bit to get there, but in the sunshine the Nicandra are beautiful.
