Well, that was an amazingly quick response
Apparently the plant is Euphorbia oblongata (Balkan Spurge); in his e-mail, Don Witton says it's a short-lived perennial that seeds prolifically in a garden setting, so perhaps may well end up becoming established in the Bristol area. A very attractive plant, anyway
