When I took over the management of the WFS web site it was already the usual practice for the photographic competition manager to scan in the prints, put them on a disk and send them to whoever was updating the website.
We recently changed our photography competition manager and he didn't know that was the practice. The competition came and went and no digitised prints were therefore created and so none were sent to me.
It will be done this year he assures me.
However I agree with your suggestion that we could appeal for either prints or better still original digital images (scanning loses some detail) to be made available so the photos can be published on the web site.
The 2007 competition winners are well worth seeing and so it doesn't really matter if they are published late.
