Posted by Peter Llewellyn on 28/2/2006, 9:50 am, in reply to "Liverpool May 20-June 3" Also, dependent on whether you have transport or not, the North Wales sites Snowdon and Cwm Idwal (montane habitat), The Great Orme or Anglesey which are all about 2 to 3 hours by car from Liverpool have some superb plants. Bear in mind that our UK flora isn't anywhere near as colourful or varied as in European mainland, the Mediterranean or the US. Soon you will be able to look up the species to be found at such sites on this site - in a couple of weeks or so I hope.

The nearest excellent site for wild flowers to you is at Southport ( e.g. Ainsdale, Formby, Freshfields) Dunes which just north of Liverpool.
