CRUSIN' ON MAIN STREET IN LAKE HAVASU CITY THIS THURSDAY
BY DAVE GRAYSON
The sight of a perfectly restored classic car often has a big impact on all of us. It's a reminder of the good old days when the pride of Detroit was made out of American steel. It's fond trip down memory lane with the cars that were owned by our fathers and grandfathers. It's the cars that we borrowed from them on weekends to create our own adolescent adventures. Anytime we hear about a "cruise in" or a classic car show it's bound to get our attention.
The Main Street Merchants Association, of Lake Havasu City-Arizona, are thinking the same thing. That's why they've been presenting "Crusin" On Main" every Thursday throughout the month of October. This project is being produced by the Main Street Merchants Association for the support of the hometown business district and for the enjoyment of the community.
The Thursday, October 29th, edition of "Cruisin" On Main" begins at 5pm with a parade of street rods, classic cars, rat rods and motorcycles. Once parked, visitors to the downtown area are invited to take an up close and personal look at these vehicles. Official judging for the "best of" categories begin at 6 pm. The trophy presentations will be 7 pm at the Media Center located on Scott Drive.
The entire car show experience will be enhanced by live music and many of the stores will be open late for visitors to truly see what Lake Havasu City's downtown business area has to offer them. Thursday night's "Crusin' On Main" is sponsored by Hava Souvenir and Bling. For more information dial up the website at http://www.crusinonmainlakehavasu.com.
