SUPER STOCKS, STREET STOCKS, MODIFIEDS, FACTORY STOCKS AND LIGHTNING SPRINT CARS THIS SATURDAY AT PERRIS!
(OCTOBER 20, 2009, PERRIS, CA) This Saturday night, October 24TH, Perris Auto Speedway will hold it’s next to last PASSCAR show of the 2009 season. The five-division show will feature the PASSCAR Super Stocks, Street Stocks, and Modifieds on the famous Riverside County half-mile clay oval while the Pick-A-Part Factory Stocks and California Lightning Sprint Cars will race on the quarter-mile track. Saturday’s spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM with the first race at 5:30.
The amazing story of Nuevo’s Ken Searcy will continue on this Saturday. The veteran racer never won a main event at The PAS in ten years of trying until he scored his initial victory on July 25th. Now he is seemingly unbeatable and has three wins in a row. And, to add to his storybook season, Searcy is the new point leader with only two races remaining in the 2009 campaign. At the same Searcy was winning the last main event on October 3rd, defending champion and point leader at the time Ed Perry of Carpineria was black flagged by officials for rough driving and docked 25 points. That gives Searcy a 33-point lead heading into Saturday’s 20 lap main event.
Temecula’s Henry Wesolowski Sr. continues to close in on his second PAS championship in the Street Stocks while Tustin’s Alan Updyke has a comfortable 38-point lead over Riverside’s Larry Lord in the Modifieds. Rosemond’s Gary Keaster has a precarious 7 points advantage over past cruiser champion Jeff Gillum in the Pick-A-Part Factory Stocks.
The Lightning Sprint Car season long fight for the championship is coming down to a battle between Stuart Hielscher Sr of Murrieta and Johnny Bluntach of Rowland Heights. Saturday’s show will be their last of the season on the PAS quarter mile without wings. Spring Valley’s Jarrett Kramer won their best PAS race of the season on the quarter mile on October 3rd. Bobby Bender won the Lightning Sprint Car race at the Southern California Fair on the PAS half-mile with wings on October 10th.
