From the moment I heard of the revival I couldn't wait for yesterday to arrive. I took my two nephews/daughter to see the show I very much was raving about and was disappointed. Although, I am VERY fluent in Spanish the kids are, in fact, I couldn't help notice that most of the audience around me that clearly don't understand Spanish were not happy. It should have NEVER been translated. I personally feel that a very broken English (Spanish accent) is what everyone was waiting for. Bernardo spoke Spanish very well (that was great), and his English was very American (no accent) - Maria (amazing voice) but her accent clearly Argentinian -- didn't sound Puerto Rican AT ALL. I plan on seeing the show again after the opening and hopely it would be tweeked. Please have them work on the accents. Music should be louder/Tony didn't grab me. The only part i really enjoyed was the "Tonight" scene. And Anita is the STAR of the show! Good luck West Side Story. --A boriqua.
