My long lost Aunt Helen Haggerty Stubbins married a Canadian soldier in the mid 1940's-early 50's. I know that she went to live in Canada and I heard that she'd had a son. What I don't know is whether she and her soldier were married in Canada or here in the u.k.
I haven't been able to uncover a marriage here in the u.k. As Helen had no family (that she was aware of at the time) I wonder if she would have married in Canada.
I really don't know where I can go from here. I have been searching for more than 20 years. She would be well into her 80's now if she is still alive.
