Old Photos

When we stopped in Anchorage Alaska to refuel on our way to Vietnam a couple of old ladies in the terminal said "what are all these kids doing in uniform". I kind of resented hearing that at that moment in time. We were young men on our way to Vietnam , some on that plane that I knew would never return alive.
I was looking at an old AIT photo today and I'll have to admit after seeing it I might have said the same thing if I saw them today. We were so young.
I was looking at another picture of my platoon in Vietnam and I noticed a difference. Although they were still young they were no longer young. If you've ever seen the difference you would know what I mean.
