Hello everyone, I happened to read a Nelson Demille book about 18 months ago that was set in present day Vietnam. The main character was a Vietnam veteran. After I finished the book, I realized how little I knew about the Vietnam War and those who served. Thank you to all for serving and welcome home!....Since I finished that book, I have been reading almost non-stop about the war and was excited to see a "Special Topics in History: the Vietnam War" offered at the local community college. As my research project, I chose to compile information about the slang phrases or words that were created during this time. I've got a few already: "mortar magnets": supply aircraft at Khe Sahn, "thud": F-105, "ham & mother####ers": ham & lima beans. If anyone could give more info, I'd really appreciate it. Also, there are a few terms that I'm not sure of ("snoop & poop"?), as well as not knowing whether the term(s) is from the Vietnam era only ("REMF", "mules", "Jolly Green Giant", etc.). Thank you in advance for any help! Kim
