It's thirty years after the Vietnam war ended and many of the men who died in Vietnam are Listed as killed in province unknown. Many times their unit is recorded as unknown. None of these things are mysteries except maybe in the cases of aircrews. Even then an approximate location is known if not recorded.
Someday in the future some relative of a deceased veteran may wish to visit the battlesite of great Grampa etc. It won't be too much longer until all of us that served in Vietnam are gone and any first hand info we have we be gone forever.
If you check up on those you knew in Vietnam who died with an "unknown" unit in an "unknown" place, gather a few facts and forward them to the Coffelt Database people. They will do all they can to investigate and correct the data.
