Tonight when dropping off a friend I talked to a young man. He told me he had to be out tommorrow early to take his friend to kidney dialysis. I asked him why his friend's kidneys were failing. He told me the Doctors didn't know why. He is only 23 years old. Later on that evening I was speaking with someone else about it and guess what ,his Dad is a Vietnam veteran. Another case of genetically altered children and birth defect type disease? Maybe. I used to live in a small town on the coast. It just so happenes the area is known as the nation's "hot spot" for testicular cancer. Was this all some Vietnam link? Not really , but let me explain further. The town's major industry was pulp and paper production. You could smell it in the air it was so thick. What does that have to do with cancer or Vietnam? You may have already guessed. Pulp production is a major contributor to dioxin pollution. I used to know an engineer whose job it was to try to keep dioxin emissions down at one of the plants. Are these issues coinidence? these cancers and abnomal diseases? Maybe, I doubt it.
