hello, my name is Meara and i am a junior in high school. you have probably heard this before, but i would greatly appreciate it if a veteran could kindly answers some questions i have about the Vietnam war. i have contacted a nearby Vietnam Veterans' home in hopes of finding a veteran i could interview for a history project. unfortunately, the place is only open during school hours, so it would be impossible to interview anyone in person. i found this website through google and hopefully, someone will be able to help me. the project is due this friday, MAY 27, so if anyone can help it would be wonderful. please email me back at xsodaxliciousx@netscape.net with your responses ASAP! other people in my class are going to "make up" and interview and pretend they actually interviewed someone; but i am very interested in the vietnam war and i think it would be very educational and fulfilling to hear a veteran's point of view. could anyone answers the following questions (answers do not have to be very detailed):
2. What was your role in the war (position, duties, etc)?
3. At the time, what was your take on the war? Were you against it?
4. Who did you have to part with at home (wife, children, parents)? Did you think you were going to see them again?
5. Describe the scene when you first arrived in Vietnam. Were you scared? Numb?

9. I heard a Vietnam Veteran say "Despite all the fighting, Vietnam was a beautiful place with wonderful beaches and mountains." Do you agree?

11. Do you have any pleasant memories about Vietnam? Is there a particular experience that stands out?
12. What was daily life like when you first entered the war?
13. Are you in any way affected by Agent Orange?
14. What was it like to constantly hear firing and bombing? Did you get used to it?
15. Did you meet any significant people during your tour of duty?
16. A veteran once told me that he often found himself bored, waiting for the enemy to arrive. What did you do when you weren't fighting?
17. What have you learned from the war? Has it changed your view on anything in life?
18. What do you think of the war today in Iraq?
19. Did you know anything about the anti-war protesters back in the US? If so, what was your take on them?
20. What did you miss the most when you were overseas?
21. Did you write letters home?
22. What was it like coming home? How were you treated? How do you think Vietnam Veterans have been treated compared to other war veterans?
23. If you were to go back in time would you change any decisions you made about going to war, or about your time spent there?
24. If you could tell everyone in the world something you learned from fighting, what would it be, and why?
25. How did the war affect your relationship with friends and family when you returned?
26. How did your view of the war differ from when you were called to duty to after you were done serving overseas?
