I desperately need to find information re:my late husband Andrew Harward Levy, originally from Malverne, L.I., NY. I was married to him for almost 41 years when he died and never knew he served in Vietnam until 6 mos before he died. He bared his soul and told me, but I did not write down the unit/company he was with. This unit was the "100 and something Infantry" that was told to guard the perimeter of Saigon and fire into all the surrounding huts because there were VietCong inside. After emptying their weapons into the huts, the men discovered that there were only women and children inside. The unit was disbanded, the men were discharged from service, all their records were shredded and they were told they would be court martialed if they ever told anyone. I am trying to located Andy's DD214 and have met with an assistant to Rep. Roscoe Bartlett (District 6, Carroll County, MD). An inquiry was sent to St. Louis and they responded that they could not find any records for Andrew Harward Levy. I NEED THIS INFORMATION TO APPLY FOR BENEFITS DUE TO ME. Can anyone help me who knew or served with Andrew Harward Levy or guide me in the right direction to find the information I need? Thank you so much.
