My dad never admitted to anyone that he was ever held as a POW except once when he was very intoxicated to my mother. I never found out about it until I'd already started on the quest to write his story. I know that my father was concerned at one point that he would have been listed, and made sure that if word got back to my grandmother she would know that he wasn't. All I know is what I was told. My book is fiction based on his story. The short story that is out is Non-fict. You're not going to find him on a POW list. In my opinion a lot of things that are supposed to be done in war don't always get done in war. Battles muddy the lines of rules and regulations. He was never listed because he didn't want to be. Are there witness still alive? I don't know, maybe. I've obviously struck a nerve with you. I'm sorry you do not belive me. But I don't know what I can do about that. I realize you don't know my dad, but he's not a man that would lie. Smiles.

: I'm so glad you took the time to check. My
: dad was captured and held only for a few
: days. He was able to escape due to a
: miracle and because his troop was still out
: in the bush they didn't get a chance to list
: him as POW. You're absolutley right, that
: no lists would have his name. He never
: admitted to it for years. I realize that
: sounds fishy however it's what happened. He
: never admitted to it. He was able to catch
: up with his troop, once he found them.

: in Vietnam too in sense. He used to tell me
: all his stories. I have a short story out
: in an anthology and am currently working on
: finding a publisher/agent for the complete
: book.
