Is he for real

Bill Mcdonal was presidnet of the Military Writers Association of America until 2007. He reviewed military accounts in book form He wrote a book that claimed he had a silver star. I served in Vietnam with the Marine from August 66 to Aug 67. Anyone have any thing on him either substantiating or denying his claim.
