Posted by John Downing Although there may be no CRIMINAL law that he (and his apologizer/spokesman Joe March) is breaking, he has certainly violated a definite MORAL law when he so blatantly attempts to blur the line between those who served in-country and those who simply spent time in any country. That he is a Veteran - I agree. That he is a Vietnam ERA Veteran - I agree. That he is a Veteran of the Vietnam Period - I agree. That he is a Vietnam Veteran - I totally disagree! He should be proud of the fact that he attained the highest office in the Legion on his own merits by telling the truth. That he now attempts to ride the coattails of true Vietnam Vets is appalling! There is “zero tolerance” for shadings and falsifications from someone at the top of an organization such as the American Legion. I feel that Paul Morin should apologize for his actions by resigning his position immediately and allow a proud but truthful individual to take the helm. It looks like yet another Vietnam Wannabe has crawled out from under his rock. I am ashamed to say that this latest Wannabe is none other than Paul A. Morin - the National Commander of the American Legion!
