I need to find my uncle's friends

I really don't know anything about the unit that my uncle served. His name is Darrell Hand. You see, he was murdered in 1993 and I feel a great need to find out more about his life. I do know his later years were filled with pain...physically and emotionally. Can anyone help me? Where is there a search for soldiers, so I can at least find his unit? Please help me!
