Sometimes while cruising the internet I find something which I feel is gut level communication. Frankly I find it refreshing after all the propaganda and BS we are spoon fed .-------------------------------------------------------
Name: Chuck
I am now 57 years old outside and still 18 inside. Every day of my two tours replay every year since then. Every day since has been a blessing and yet I close my eyes and see the exact spot and moment at the end of my second tour where I chose not to stay for a third tour - and I regret that. There was so much more there than here - then. I am proud of all that I served with even though we didn't get along all the time. There were moments of stupidity, valor, pettiness, honor, boredom and exultation. Someday - maybe soon - there are two items on my list of life that will be fulfilled. The first is to go to Kent State, drink as much beer as I can in honor of those of us who didn't come back or those who carry their wounds still and the Viet Namese, Hmong and Montagnards who were betrayed - and piss on their Peace Memorial - to repay the spit I got in California. The second is to sit beneath the bows of a tree looking at The Wall and cross over to touch the robe of God and be with those who gave the greatest measure of love. Look into the The Wall, see their eyes, touch their faces, they are still with us. Duty. Honor. Country. Semper Fi.
