Posted by Dave Troescher on 4/27/2006, 5:12 pm I'm also pushing the state to issue a disabled veterans license plate to those who are 100% P&T, service connected disabled, but not handicapped. Right now State Assemblymember Pedro Nava is trying to decide if he wants to author this bill. And I need help. If those reading this could take the time to email Mr. Nava's office at: I've looked into the eyes of too many veterans and saw so much pride, pain, frustration and sadness. I'm pushing this as hard as I can, any any additional help I can get will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yo:
Almost a year ago I started a drive to reduce the waiting time a handicapped veteran has to wait for approval for his/her handicapped parking plates. Currently the minimum wait is about two months. I'm pushing to have it reduced to what a non-veteran waits, about two days.
Keep in mind that about thirty-nine other states are currently doing this and California, with the highest number of veteran, isn't.

and Assemblymember Joe Nation, Chairman of the Committee On Veterans Affairs at:

expressing your support for this, it would help greatly. Nothing nasty, just honest. Also, for those here in Calif., any news exposure you can generate would be helpful.
