In the not too distant future China will become Americas main competition for the worlds dwindling oil reserves. The world is expected to run out of oil within 30 years and most of the world's oil reserves are in the middle east. Recent developments in the Persian Gulf would point towards a problem with certain alliances. Early this year China and Russia will be having joint military excersizes citing concerns about America as the motive for doing so. Iran is developing nuclear weapons and thumbing its nose at worldwide objections. If in fact the Russians and Chinese see America as a threat to leadership in the game of globalism a certain alliance is almost guaranteed. That alliance would be a Chinese /Russian/Iranian one.It would not be in China's best interests to do so at this time being as China is not approaching predominance yet and depends somewhat on trade with the west. However once China becomes more dominate the need for oil will almost guarantee a struggle between them and us for oil.
