I hear ya Stephen. I served on the USS Wainwright CG-28 and she met that exact fate in 2002. Not a good way to go. Perhaps you could check with the administrators over at the link I provided and see what they would have done differently to save her. I'm sure such an effort was put forth by some of her crewmembers. Good Luck, Pete
