My name is Jason H. Jouett. I was enlisted in the Naval Submarine Force (please don't hold that against me) from 04MAY94 to 27AUG02. I served onboard the USS Kentucky SSBN 737 (Blue). I enlisted in the Navy as a Radioman (RM) but was converted to an Electronics Technician due to changes in the submarine force structure. I was honorably discharged on 27AUG02 as an ET2/SS. I became intereseted in the USS Jouett long ago obviously due to the name. I was continually asked throughout my 8 years in the Navy if I was connected with the USS Jouett. My answer embarrassingly was always that my Father told me that somehow we were kin to Admiral Jouett down the line, but that I was not really sure. I am still not sure of this fact due to not having the opportunity to research my family tree. However I have seen a number of various ways to spell Jouett and not many people spell it J-O-U-E-T-T. So I feel confident that I am linked to the USS Jouett somewhere down the road. I noticed on your membership form that you had to be a past crew member of the Jouett to be a member. I was wondering if there is anyway that I could become a member. I am most impressed with your website and would give anything if I could purchase some items from your ships store. I would appreciate any answers to this email.
