Was a BT on Jouett from '82-'85 (Bounced between EB13 and EB01 the entire time). Bust ass ship and bust ass crew. Retired from Navy in Oct '99 and remember well the love/hate relationship with the Jolly 'J'. Five ships and two shore commands and I remain in contact with shipmates from each and every command EXCEPT Jouett...seems none of them want to remember. The crew of 'my' Jouett was tighter than any other I ever served with. I had great pals and pretty good shipmates...something I later found out was a rarity. If anybody reading this was aboard at that time, they may remember a 'senior enlisted BT' (no names, right?)who for two or three years, made it his personal goal to tear apart not only B- Division but the Engineering Department as a whole. To this day I KNOW this person caused many good snipes to get out of the Navy rather than stick with it. I speculate more of my old Jouett shipmates would be available for contact via the internet, etc. had some people not instilled a hatred for the Navy in them rather than a degree of comraderie. Please, anyone who may have been aboard at that time, please drop me a line. Thanks.
