Posted by Stu Schrock on February 7, 2005, 18:09:36 "The Edge of Honor" by P.T. Deutermann is a great read and, unless I miss my guess, is set onboard your ship. In the book the USS JOHN BELL HOOD (which never existed) was a DLG in the Tonkin Gulf, late 60s time period. I exchanged e-mail with the author, Captain Dutermann, and he served as a CIC evaluator during Red Crown ops on USS JOUETT circa 1970-1972. For any of you, just read it.
